As you are all aware, or should be aware, comments were posted recently which resulted in a thread that was very detrimental towards TDI plc.

In response to those comments TDI plc contacted us, as site owners and administrators, to express their concerns about the posts which, as a business, is perfectly fair and within their rights to do so.

Despite our subsequent request no documentary evidence was forthcoming from any of the thread contributors in support of their comments against TDI plc which therefore we can only assume must be completely unsubstantiated.

Consequently TDI plc may well have lost business due to the comments made and appear to be the injured party here.

However having spoken to them personally it is clear that an amicable solution without resorting to legal proceedings was sought in the interests of good customer relations.

Nico and I have discussed the situation at length both between ourselves and with TDI plc and agree that these comments are an accurate reflection of events.

TDI plc have requested that should anyone have any problems with them, that they contact them directly to resolve the issue rather than making accusations on a public forum.

This advice is common sense and should be followed for any company that you may have a problem with. Unless you give them the opportunity to resolve the issue with yourselves, then you have no right to complain about their service or actions.

Remember that everything you write or say that will be seen or heard by another person should be correct under law. Unless you know something to be factual and provable, do not mention it. We are not interested in gossip or hearsay, and it can only get you and us into trouble.

There have been a lot of situations and events recently which has resulted in Nico and myself discussing the introduction of site moderation on frequent occasions, and this particular event has happened to coincide with our decision. If we had only acted a week earlier maybe none of this would have happened.

However, we are positive only good will come of it, because hopefully you will all consider your posting more carefully and the perceived maturity level of the forum can increase.

To finalise, considering the shock to TDI plc that the statements caused, we would like to thank them for the professionalism and support shown towards 300zx.co.uk and the minimal amount of disruption that it has caused us. I would also like to think that an apology could be made to TDI plc by the offending authors for their unsubstantiated posts.

I have been in contact with Nathan and we have discussed my situation.

I compleetly agree regarding the way he has dealt with me.

I have to say that I’m as relieved as Craig and Nico that this is now over. I think many lessons have been learnt in the process, and indeed the lack of knowledge is probably the core reason why it all appeared as drastic as it did.

Running a forum brings with it responsibilities that it appears neither the moderators or many members were truly aware of. That’s not to say anyone in particular was at fault it’s just that if you don’t know exactly where you stand then you can’t act accordingly. Fortunately we were able to discuss the problems without it going too far and the whole thing has been a bit of a learning curve, with Craig and Nico now administering procedures which should hopefully prevent a repeat scenario. This will not only benefit them in terms of hopefully being able to keep their hair longer than otherwise, it should also make for a better forum in the long run. Members don’t need to be worrying about getting chased by companies any more than the moderators. In turn, if a site looks sensible then possible future advertisers will not think twice about paying for space, the site gets bigger and everyone’s happy.

James Ashley: I suggest you ask for your money back from your Private Investigator. Whilst I am flattered that you not only think it necessary to hire a P.I. simply to find out who owns a company, to think we are connected to such a large and successful company as Ford is also flattering to our business. Unfortunately we are not. Mark Catchpole is the owner of TDI as most people know. Finding out who owns what company is hardly difficult so I feel your P.I. may have been a little inexperienced. Please try and keep you and your friends personal vendettas off others peoples forums.

Sorry Craig, Nico and the rest of you guys for this. It seems some people are intent on still trying to cause trouble. Whilst it seems we have quoshed any problems between TDI and this list (thanks to 300z too ((Warren)) for calling me) it appears that this has infuriated some corners who deem it necessary to come on to your forum and try to stir it all up again.

Bear with us everyone. Craig and Nico (with their new appointed moderators) will I am sure have everything under control soon.

Thanks to everyone for being understandable. Long live the Z!! (and I’ll give anyone a go if I see ya out and about….!)

Best regards,

Nathan.
