just been looking at all different types of gauges and noticed most of these air/fuel ratio gauges say they use the standard oxygen or lambda sensor on the car. Does the Z have such a thing or do you need to add it to the exhaust yourself?

Yes, the Z got 2 lambda sensors.

The problem is that they are not wide-band O2 sensors.

That means that their output will swing sharp around the ideal mixture point.

This will make the A/F gauges a bit inaccurate as they are probably

just applying a low pass filter on the O2 sensor signal.

you can get a sensor with the gauges to fit yourself
