Bloody seat belts

For the third bloody time ... I've just finished stripping down and rebuilding the drivers side seat belt, they are crap... the first time coincided with up rating and amp'ing the front speakers, I suspect causing a small nylon cog to spontaneously explode in the mechanism of both the drivers and passengers belts, luckily I had a couple of spare units from the scrappy... and to think I used to rate Seiko (the manufacturer of said units).

    Is it possible to change the rear Jap spec. lap belts over to UK spec. inertia type ones..possibly by using belts from a scrapped car?
