Is this a first? From auto to manual then back to auto??????????

Well I always felt it was going to be a bad move getting rid of my auto:(

As most of you know I converted to manual because my auto box would have melted down with the car throwing out big power. Well guess what my manual box has done the same and it was brand new

At the moment I have Nend looking into converting a Supra 6 speed manual to fit as he is in a worse position than me as he has wasted 3 new manual gearboxes running big power.

So why is it that our friends across the pond are running 700bhp+ with stock manual boxes? Well I don’t ware it I tell thee so what’s going on LOL?

Looks like I may have to go back to auto as there is one available that will handle 700bhp without any probs.

So traders please feel free to PM me a price if you can get your hands on one of these.

have you looked into uprated internals? os gieken? havent a clue how its spelt

Sounds like zed gearboxes weren't over-engineered too much.

The gearboxes from the old car I had a Renault 21 Turbo which as standard only had 175bhp are very strong and are used in al manner of very highly powered kit cars.

Maybe some of this Renault goodness will rub off on Nissan as they are now partners in a way!

I'd say handling 600bhp is pretty well engineered. Im suprised your having problems Mac, its always been considered that the Manual box is will take any power you throw at it.

Thats what I always was lead to believe, but like I said my box was brand new and Nend has cooked 3 brand new ones so it's not just me

Happy Birthday mate, welcome to the best side of 40! ROFL

What boxes do them skyline drag cars have I know some are manual

its almost enough to make me go out and buy a skyline - any make them fit the zed??

Right me old mucka listen to me, go with the Poopra setup on the manual route for now, FFS you have just gone from a decent Auto-box to manual. You have just layed out a fortune on a clutch etc. Yeah fine if the Manual packs up (and it will) then go back to the auto option.

I think the Soup gearbox should do the trick, I know that people rave about Skylark stuff but at the end of the day it's cack! Nissan have never produced anything decent, yeah nice cars but compared to Toyota they are not in the same league! FACT ;)

so what power are you throwing through the gearbox macca or is it top secret??

I would have thought the Supra Box would need a shit load of work doing to it. Wouldnt getting in contact with Giken or Mugen in japan be a idea. After all they ran a 600bhp during LeMans and the JGT series?

you do know that with a manual car theres a 3rd pedal you have to push down when changing gear?!?!? :D

I fitted a grounding kit to a gtr.co.uk member's R33 GTR with this hollinger sequential box. He said it was one of only a couple that Nissan fitted at the factory  He was running 650BHP

The Jun 300zx that pushed 1000ps and 264mph used the "Original 5speed cross transmission". Your car is a lot less powerfull so I can't understand why the box is blowing. http://www.junauto.co.jp/democar/jb-z32/spec.html?en

The big question on that would be how many miles has that car done before it was put back in its box?

Also Nend who is probably running a little less power than me as he has HKS 2530 turbos fitted has broken 3 brand new gear boxes this year,so that must be even harder to understand? :wack: :wack: :wack:

Dont use the gear box being broken as an excuse to change back to an Auto

you are getting old now so maybe an auto is better for you ;)
