Orderd a inverter from from rs components to power the the back lit panel the factory one witch decided to stop working .But wired live and earth the wrong way round and killed it burnt out it had dodgey instuctions on sticker on top saying veiw other way round have had to order another one *****cks. :headvswal

what colour where the wires?

no colours on inverter just 4 spikes on the back to solder onto there is a live an a earth from the rear lights found out witch was what and just connected round the wrong way and smoked inverter . :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

Which Inverter did you buy? I got this response from RS Components when I was looking:

 

 

Reference your enquiry for an inverter for the EL strip. I doubt very much that the inverters RS stocks will be able to drive your sheet. The RS sheet is very much smaller in dimension and the inverter drive is normally designed to power the particular sheet size, as is the case here. I would also think this would be the case with the sheet you mention.

Therefore I cannot recommend an inverter, but if you were to try one I think it would have to be the largest, 267-8863, but no gaurantees!

Orderd part no 267 8857 just orderd another one £25 .Some one on the board is runing a el panel with this inverter at the moment user name kierash.Do you know how much that part no you list is mate.

Next size up to yours £25.48 +vat.

yes mate ill let you know im geting pissed off with this rear panel now.

I can't remember cost etc ...it's been a while since I did the job..........BUT IIRC I used 2 inverters in parallel to get the required power .....I too smoked one due to being underpowered.This is powering a standard green EL nissan panel not a homebrew conversion..

 

 

 

 

NOTE: 1 INVERTER IS NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH AND WILL GET SMOKED
