Thought i'd try and get rid of the caliper creak i have in the fronts today, it's really loud!

Spent 4 hours, jacking car up, removing wheels, removing pads, rubbing down and cleaning all the shims etc, covering all the surfaces with copper grease and putting the pads back in, wheels back on etc...

Went for a test drive and the brakes were silent! not a sound! 15 minutes later i pull up in my street to park and creeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaakkkkk!!!! :headvswal

Fookin car! What a waste of time and effort!

So frustrating mate when that happens, I know what its like.

Look at it this way, your time wasnt wasted, at least you know all's well (regardless of the noise!!).......

My caliper creak was simply where my pads had worn down and the caliper pistons had to travel that much further.

Mine creaked too but a change of pads sorted it, dont think they were that low either. Have to as Jay as he changed em for me lol.

Look at if from the bright side, now as you know how it's done you don't need to put as much time on it as last time :)

Chin up M8.........you have a Zed........

Well I've got a constant rubbing squeel when it's moving, a loud squeel when you brake AND the creaking!!!! So when the money becomes available (hopefully bloody soon) then I'm changing all the brake pads, discs, hoses and fluid, and give the calipers a damn good service!! That should sort it :D

im getting the same problem as well, with new pads fitten hell of a squeal??

hmm might have to get new pads again damn it!!
