Stick this on your dash, it will make it more welcoming. ;)

If not do a search on the forum as a few people have done led conversions, but the needles dont show up to well, as blue light doesnt pass through the red needles.

I'm currently working on putting together a LED "package" which in effect will be a straight replacement job for all the dash bulbs. Take out the old bulbs put in the new LEDs and away you go! It's currently in the development stages but should be good to go in about a month/month and a half (I'm aiming just in time for Christmas). You'll be able to get the LED's in blue, red and green and I'm also trying to get LEDs to light up under the A/T lever indicator plate ... No word yet on pricing but it should be competitively priced.

Regards,

Dan

I've done a RED LED conversion and it looks spot on! I got them off Ebay for £1.50 each but they were only single LED's and i don't think they're bright enough so i've ordered some 4 LED versions, plus changed all the interior illumination bulbs like the window switch to red to match. I've also sprayed the console around the radio a nice gunmetal and rather than have it a glossy finish i held the spray can about 2 foot away wich created a nice effect, plan to do the control pods either side of the wheel to match.

I've also been experimenting with adding extra illumination to switches that arn't currently illuminated like the passenger side window switch, air vents, over head lights etc. Easiest way i can see is to drill a 1.5mm hole where you want the light , fill it with hot glue and mount an LED behind. The glue acts as a transparrent lense which stopps the led from dazzling.

Aluminium dial surrounds and rings look good too.

I'd go for white LEDs. I did this to my old car and gives a lovely crisp crystal clear white glow. Looks much nicer than Blue which I find can look a little tacky at times.

well that went badly!

took the dash apart and swaped the original bulbs for new wide angle red LED's.

Waited till it was dark ....

switched lights on and, the engine temp gauge was in darkness, the top of the speedo and rev counter are too dark (not so much the speedo) and the petrol gauge kind of flickers.

Overall looks crap. Took it apart and got the temp aguge one working which brightened up the speedo a bit but the top of rev counter is still to dark and still have a slight flicker!

Oh well, put it back together in the morning!

will sort some pictures out soon, just got to change the bulbs in the pods and its finished. By the way, tried the 4-LED bulbs but they were crap, single wide angle are the best. I'm also going to try regular red 12V 5W bulbs as they may be brighter and give a more even spread.
