I am finding the TT a lot different from the NA, to say the least. The TT does seem to have a bit of a hole right at the bottom of the rev range. I don't know if it's the car, the autobox, or just me. In the NA I felt power from zero on up, but with the TT I feel the power beginning as the boost builds up (2,600 or so). I can understand that bit
However, with the manual NA, although I was obviously going slower, I felt I was getting my peak power as it revved to just over five thousand, and I felt almost like I never needed to rev it higher. Now, although I am going faster, I think I always need to let the engine rev higher.
What I am asking is- how far do you push the revs towards the red on a daily basis? I have always been a pussy driver and never taken a car to it's limits. I back off before I feel I am doing anything silly, and never let the car go to its maximum. On a 'normal' run (I mean not doing a 1/4 mile or anything) how far do you let the car rev before changing up or backing off? I don't feel as in control of it with an auto and it does make it a weird driving experience because you hear the thing change gear at what seems like odd times.
In a stock TT when will I reach peak torque or power compared to an NA? Where do you draw the line on a 'normal' drive about how far to push the car?
