I have been looking around at TT Zs for sale and none of them are standard, in fact most that come up in the for sale section of this forum have quite a few mods. How easy is it to insure such a highly modifed car, especially an import?

Also companies will only quote you on a car if you list every single modification which makes it quite difficult to get quotes unless you have actually decide to buy the car and rules out almost all online quotes.

Any thoughts/adivice on this?

A lot of you guys must have been through this before.

Cheers

So you've not told them about all the mods?

Tut Tut very naughty......:D

I wouldn't be able to go for a classic policy since I will be using it every day to go to work.

Im 21, looking at a 300zx TT, got a quote on a ordinary spec car. Mine is £1500 or £670 for a N/A, :(

I haven't had a quote yet, but I'm hoping that since I'm 30 and have 7 years NCD that it won't be too bad. A while ago I got a quote for a Skyline GTST with aftermarket induction, exhaust and alloys and it was £1200.

I'm also insured with Norton, and I decleared all my mods to them, and it made no difference at all, and my quote was below £300 on a classic policy aswell.

As for being only 21, then if you want a high performance car, you've got to expect that sort of insurance quote I'm afraid.

I'll swap you your age for my insurance premium - and you can have the car as well.

Good luck

Jack - maybe the oldest club member - I dearnt find out...

Im 28 with 8 yrs ncb and pay £800 fully comp on a 91 2+2 TT import through elephant. Found them cheapest even against classic car insurers.

elephant.com
