Jap Village

Ok then,

After a total disaster with Veilside.co.uk mad.gif what does anyone know about Jap Village? (www.japvillage.co.uk) I get a better vibe about them, has anyone got any stories, good or bad?

I have a feeling thats where Leigh got his car from, which he bought as a 93 only to find out it was a 90, or along those lines.. Give the garage their due though, they did give him compensation, and the spray job they did was top notch..

Best check with Leigh mind you, that I'm right smile.gif

They promised me a Manual TT - it was on the boat they said - even sent me 16 colour pictures of it by email detailing the minor dings and that as soon as it arrived in Southampton it was going straight in their body shop to be sorted, had my name on it. Hung on for a month - its here and in the bodyshop we wont mess you about as you were the first caller and it was a pisser for me to get over to view as Im on the Isle of Wight - made numerous calls to them, its all in hand we'll call you when its ready......

So I am of course chuffed and not looking elsewhere (do you know how difficult it is to find a manual TT with leather!).

Phoned again - sorry this car was deposited by a customer before it left Japan!!! frown.gif

My only conclusion is they were keeping me hanging on in case the other guy pulled out.

Fucked me off!

This is however only one incident, my experience and no reflection on Jap Village on the whole - just what happened to me.

I was going to email you with this Stu but sod it! it happened and pissed me off - moral, deposit it if you like the look of it with a get out clause if its a dog.

Just my 0.00452 of Pesata's worth.

Oh yeah - and another conclusion I have drawn is that it is a damn sight more difficult buying a decent Zed than selling one!!

Happy hunting smile.gif

Hi Pacman,

Bought my ZED from them it was ordered especially for me, and should have been a 1994. I had a choice if I didnt like the car when I viewed they would sell it anyway. Glen could be the one they sent you photos of, mine a silver manual, check my rides.

Anyway after about 3 months of happiness bulb blows, and I went to a local importer to get the correct bulb. They tell me its not a 1994. I checked the VIN plate with a list on the Aussie site, and it confimred the car was 1991.

Jap Village said they bought the car in good faith from there people in Japan. Once I proved the VIN, they returned £1000 to me and appologised as they were not aware. Also if you pay them £700 on any import they have bought in for you they do the paint, tyres, and a service. If you buy off the forecourt and pay there normal selling price, then this has already been done. Its cheaper to get them to import for you, as you put the money up for the car not them, but if you dont like it when it arrives, they return your money, and sell it on.

I believe they are honest, and didnt try to do me, and as such should I ever change the ZED, I will buy through them again. They also have the VIN list now so this doesnt happen again.

About the WWW.VEILSIDE.CO.UK

The car was bought by me. smile.gif

But you know what? You got lucky...Very lucky. The engine of the car is fucked up.

It needs crankshaft, pistons, and rods.

When they sold it to me the car was "fine"

No engine noises or anything. When I drove it from Leeds to London (about 380Km/h). The engine got fucked up. I couldnt believe it.

At the moment I am waitting a report from my mechanic so I can send it back to them. They asked me to send them a report from my mechanic so they can find me a new engine. I hope.

As a business they should keep their promise and help me with this because if they dont its gonne have a serious impact on their business.

Also when I took the engine to my mechanic the engine numbers were erased.

Is this legal? I wonder.

Don't like the sound of that ! Is the chassis number a good'un ? It is a possibility that years ago the car was repaired in Japan with a stolen engine ...

Can i take them to court if they dont get me a new engine?

Its like they sold me a stolen car

Heh, AFAIK in the UK if they sold you a stolen car and you took it to court, you'd all end up being charged...

Nice system, isn't it..

Not sure on the engine front, probably not, the legal system over here sucks (much like everything else over here then).

I will end up beeing charged??????

If it was a stolen vehicle, and you bought it - yes, posession/handling of stolen goods.. I have a feeling you'd get let off that - but they do take your car away (with no monetary compensation, because technically it was never yours..)

Engine with no engine number... just don't make too much fuss, I think is the best idea..

Do u know if anyone got compensated by them or they are just full of shit.

If they dont they I am fucked. I need new engine/labour/service and all sort of shits.

Hey Nitro, I'm sorry man that really sucks. Those guys really are a bunch of 'ass ramming uncle fuckers' (excuse my bad language, I know how easily offended you lot are smile.gif ) I can't believe you will get done for having a nicked car though, although I am pretty sure you will lose the car.

As for Jap Village, of the 4 or 5 imports I have been to they are by far the most 'non dodgy' I have seen. Having said that the car for sale on their website isn't the car for sale in their showroom so I wasted 270 miles of petrol! LOL! If I get a Jap car then I'm pretty tempted to get one from them. They have 2 coming in January that are in my price range (just about) but apparently someone has put a deposit on the 1st one already.

To take this a bit further, are there any other reliable jap importers about. I seem to have met more crooks in the last 3 weeks than on a day trip to wormwood scrubs!

Hi Nitro and so sorry you have been fucked over by the dodgy geezers frown.gif

I say demand a full refund, take digital photos of the erased engine numbers and hope for the best - Im no legal expert but I have spoken to the jokers on the phone and, well after you have spoken to as many people on the phone when trying to buy a zed as i did you kinda get a feel for who's right and who's a wrong-un.

And these wankers are crooks - thats my opinion, others here can corroborate that with hard facts frown.gif

Bastards want shooting in my opinion, and if they are selling dodgy motors, well who knows what might happen to em if they sell a ringer to the wrong person.

frown.gif makes my blood boil - feel for you mate...really do frown.gif

Mine came from a company called DRS in Worthing. I have no complaints except that the salesman (boss) could talk for England. The UK conversion was done well, they put three new (cheap) tyres on it (without my prompting), they supplied number plates that fitted correctly, the little scratches that needed spraying were done well and basically they did what they said they would do. As far as I know they had been in the importing business for a few years and I assume they still are. Contact: DRS CARS High Beech, The Cut, Findon Valley, Worthing, BN14 0TP. 01903 872425

Man u aint gettin done for shit!, trust me. As long as u have documentry evidence to prove that you legitly bought the car from those guys, then ur in the clear mate. Dont worry. U'll have to reclaim ur money back from the dealership though. If they kick up a fuss, then u kick up a bigger one and take em 2 court. Engine numbers aint that big a deal. I know most jap import cars dont have their engine numbers on the logbook once registered in thg UK anyway so dont worry about it. When engines are reconditioned, dont they normally remove the numbers and stamp R/C in its place?, u sure it doesnt have that stamped there?.

Guys,

Believe me since the day I bought this Z I've lost my sleep.

My story has as follows. I bought this car for my brother who leaves in Cyprus.

I arranged shipping the next couple of days I bought it so I was kind of trapped.

When the car finally arrived in Cyprus my brother took it to the mechanic and they've found that it needs Crankshaft, pistons and rods because there was a strange noise coming from the engine after I drove it from Leeds.

Before taking it to the mechaninc they took it for inspection as well and they've found that the car has been hit on the right rear side badly. It shows 15% not balanced.

Front suspension only works 30%

Brakes are fucked up.

In other words the car worths nothing.

I payed £5150.

My problem at the moment is that the car is in Cyprus. The suspension, brakes is not a problem I can fix them but the engine...

If they dont find me a new engine I am gonne export the car back to UK and take them to court.

Hi All,

I have posted a new topic under the name of Veilside.

I have been interested in purchasing a vehicle from them.. until now.. Based on the name's reputation in Japan and USA.

(For the little that is worth I have E-Mailed the company in Japan, mentioning the use of their name, which i feel is misleading people here in the UK)

It may not make much difference but i thought they should know as im sure its doing the 'real' company's reputation no good what so ever..

Please let me know how you get on with JapVillage..

all the best

Nick

frown.gif

So so bad.

I have veilside bodykit and proud sticker on my screen.

These pricks even have the email address veilside@japan.com

I sincerely hope that one day a big silver Mercedes turns up at this outfits office and out of the Mercedes oozes 4 immaculately dressed Yakuza. With small knives and a desire for index fingers.

Bastards.

Hope ya get it sorted. Makes my blood boil frown.gif

Well I hope Veilside in Japan take it seriously..(If there is anything they could do anyway)

Alot of my friends said, when i saw the UK site that they knew Veilside to be an excellent Japanese Tuning Company so these must be reputable..

little did they (or me know)..

fingers crossed anyway..

How many knack'd Zeds are these people putting into general circulation in the UK too, there website (which i have been monitoring since may 2001) has a constant supply of 300zz TT's for sale.

Lets get something together and mail autotrader.co.uk and at least let em know what these nimrods are doing... frown.gif

Pissed now... really pissed...

frown.gif

How about stating the Trading Standards Act, or reporting it to the Trading Standards Ombudsman.

Hi guys..

for those of you who havent read the posting of "Veilside Important info"

Veilside in the USA replied to me last night and were unaware of this 'company' and their lawyers will be getting in touch...

Hi Pacman,

Dont worry about the 1st 300ZX Jap Village have comming, I have put my name on it. The reason being I am still a bit disappointed with the fact I have a 1991 Car instead of a 1994 as ordered. The car I have however hasnt missed a beat since owning it, and I am in two minds wether to swap it or not.

Steve E tells me if you have a good one hold onto it, so I am going to take a look at what they bring in compare and decide from there.

Leigh.
