I think ive found the problem with my speedo,it has a KPH to MPH converter in it.

When i bought the car it had a clock wich went to 110 which was reading correctly.I then put a UK speedo in it and now its all over the place.

The problem is what does the converter look like and where the hell do i find it? :headvswal :)

It's normally a little "black box" thats been fitted in to the speed sensor feed wire to the rear of the speedo.

However, if you didn't notice it when you changed to UK clocks it might be somewhere else.

Possibly near the ECU?

Thanks Graham there is a box with what looks like a speaker in it but i thought that was the speed chime.

If its the box screwed to the top bracket that holds the speedo cluster in, it is the alarm.

Mine looks like this:

OK guys who can tell me what colour the speed sensor wire is? :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

There are normally Three wire's depending on type fitted!!! Comonly red yellow and blue. The speed converter will normally be a small black plastic box roughly the size of a matchbox and normally are wired to the back of the whole cluster! One wire may go to the grey/blue wire if my memory serve's me correctly (haven't fitted many lately) and the other two go to the back of the speedo cluster.:)

If your cluster looks like this, it goes to the wire that goes to the pin marked "Pulse IN".
