this is probably normal but when i first start the car in the morning it ticks over at 1600rpm and sound like its racing. This drops to normal once warmed up after about 5 minutes. I know this is to warm the car up but should it be this high? - can i drive off during this time so long as i drive normally until warm?

you can normally drive in the warm up period but stay off boost, iff ime not wrong dont think mr nissan will allow boost till water temp up anyway :)

Idle Air Regulator (IAR).IAA This valve lives on the the intake manifold, above the passenger-side Its temperature sensitive open when cold, closed when hot. That makes the car idle higher when it's warming up, which is good.

yes you can drive car just take it easy until car up to temp and oil pressure is good :)
