Yes it could be a lot worse! And it will be if you dont take to the advice you are being given.

SUCCESSFUL Management of Type 2 diabetes really requires a whole change in lifestyle.

The sooner you get this on board the better it will be for you. The consequences of ignoring it are scary.

I dont wanna lose one of the few NA Podsters there are, so get with the diet NOW

Look at it this way...

Less weight = quicker times at da Pod!!

No one told chunk that :x:

I've had type 1 diabetes for almost 15 years now (5 injections a day  ). Not too much of a problem, but I've had my moments with it...

My mate recently got diagnosed with Type II.

He still goes drinking etc no worries.

Just got to be aware of it and cerful of too much sugar.

Glad you're sounding cheery Steve! It doesn't bother my mate at all so no need to worry too much mate.

Sorry to see that Steve, but you hit the nail on the head.........

I've had type 1 Diabetes for 11 years now (4 injections a day). Its not so bad when you get used to it. Just watch what you eat and drink - I'm teetotal by the way :duffer:

Blimey Dave - just goes to show it can happen to anyone! Like you say, you just get used to it and an injection becomes as routine as brushing your teeth :D

Doesn't sound like diabetes bud. You'll typically feel crap and tired all of the time as your sugar levels are too high. The cuppa or chocolate will just make thing worse :( You'll also piss loads and be forever thirsty. Get it checked out though if you are worried. Many pharmacies do free checks on the premises..

My girlfriend's mum kind of has type II. She goes through a few months of controlled diet to bring it under control, but when it's fine for about a week she starts to forget about the diet thing and a few months later it comes back. Plus it depends on the stress she's under, etc. She's lucky that it's only mild when she does get it.

As has been said, you need to stick at it. Bummer, but there you go :)

Best of luck though matey!

after a nasty visit to the hospital early on this year i was told i had this to as well as under active thyroid............its a royal pain in the arse but at least all the bloody pills i now have to take to control various things dont cost me anything once they gave me a certain type of tablet......half way to losing 8 stone was told i had to lose first 4 was easy but now with swimming and gym every night hopefully it shouldnt take long

my uncle got diabetes most probably brought on by his weight and diet.

He lost about 8 stone very quickly and virtually all due to a good diet.
