Got a mate with a Mazda RX-8. It's a nice car, but what's with the fake-metal plastic trim all over the interior (it's a kind of grey silver color)? It's even down the sides of the centre console transmission tunnel. Why do they do this? It really spoils the car, which otherwise is very nice. Why not just use real metal? It'd look ten times better.

and cost ten times more!!!

when you have worked in a car plant for as long as I did you find out what a set of cheapskate costcutting horrible people they really are.

I had a Toyota soarer at one point, and even though there were certain pieces of trim that ****ed up on every car, it still felt very solidly built, like it was actually built well. I always think a zed is pretty good quality trim-wise. All the common as muck cars I have driven have been awful - Fords and rovers etc. Although my old Granny never fell to pieces. Once the car has got to ten years old and hasn't fallen to pieces I guess you know it's not going to. I was in the Mazda dealer the other day and I can't stand the RX-8 seats, or the handle-brake I mean hand-brake.

Nooooo... not an XR2i. Back home they used to be the ultimate boy racer-mobile, although I haven't seen one for ages now (can't say that's a bad thing though).
