What do you guys think about the Pontiac Firebird? The v6 version isn't a rocket, and would do 0-60mph in just under 10 seconds. Keep in mind that you could get a 1995+ for half of the price of a Z (where I live) and that it's technically much more simple than the 300zx. Opinions about the car, please :)

No worst than the 4.0 V8 Rover engine pumping out a similar amount!

True. It must be a real skill to come up with an engine that bad. Unless there's something fairly obvious I'm missing, like these things producing a mind-blowing quantity of torque... but I really can't see it being that great.

If you are looking at a Camaro, forget the 4th gen and aim for a good 2nd gen.

1st gens were way over-rated IMHO. :)

3rd gens, which I run on a daily basis, are ok (ish)

If you are looking for a Firebird, 72 to 74 are the best. (no smog or any legislation crap)

Dont go under a 350ci if possible.

455ci if you can get it.

Have to agree there but you could transform cars up to 91 or 92 (can't remember which now) to be a replica of KITT.

only the early 80s ones had the powerbulge as standard though.

having said that though i do quite like that camaro

Hmm, trainspottery moment here. Pretty sure KITT was a Trans Am and not a Firebird. Anyone know for sure?

Yes - think it was a Trans Am.

Going American? Camero Z28? That's got some shove!

IIRC it was both.....

...Trans Am was the name given to the top of the range Firebird.

From memory of course - someone must know.....

Richard :)

I believe that they didnt use the Trans-am because it was the top of the range, and went for the next model down, heavily modded of course.
