Hi all,
As my auto box is now well and truly on its last legs I started researching the various options available to me. (1) rebuild gearbox to stock spec, (2) rebuild gearbox to "fast road" spec, (3) buy second hand gearbox known to be working. Ideally I'd like option (2) but limited finances may force me into another option. However, as a final alternative I'd like to know whether it is possible to buy a completely new gearbox, say directly from Japan. Does anyone know whether this is possible and if so are the gearboxes "year" specific - ie you can't fit a 96 gearbox to a 90 car ... I seem to recall that the autobox out of a JDM TT was also fitted to another JDM Nissan, possibly a pickup truck ... Anyone know if this is correct?
Thanks for the feedback!
Dan
