length of the short throw gearshift?

does anybody know the difference in size between the SHORT THROW GEARSHIFT and standard one? i got a nice shiny one from e-bay, went to fit it and it seems to be the same length as the one already in there... thinking in may have a short throw one already fitted :confused:

    could be wrong here but I think the stick is the same length, they just move the pivot ball up the stick a bit. You get shorter shifts but less mechanical advantage. (harder to move)
