I have just got a new VAIO lap top and to be quite honest its seems really good ..SO FAR> i have heard a lot of reports from people. saying "they're crap" and "ho no not one of them?" I got a netgear wirless router and am on it now. so all i gotta do is get the conzult cable and software and some other bits that are available such as diagnostic stuff and then learn how to use it all then I will be away.

But as i said the lap top seems just fine so have you had any bad experiances with the vaio?

ive had vaio stuff for years and IMHO top made stuff and never had any problems in fact the only problems i have now is off my new "better" PC!! should have kept the sony lol

The only gripe I have about Sony vaio's are the prices... you must be rolling in it ;)

Either that or you're not spending enough money on your Z :D

They are quite good, but for the same price you can get better with another brand.

Just hope you dont need to phone Sony for any warrenty help.

My girlfriend's one screen died 3 days after getting it I thought it would be a simple swap. Sony would not talk to us until we registered the laptop, and then when we registered it they said send it off and she will get it back in 6-8 weeks

I asked why they cant just replace it and they said, "Its because its been registered, if it hadn't they could just swap it.

A few days of several angry phone calls, we managed to get it changed for a new one.

No problems here with this Vaio, never had to phone Sony though so that should be fun.

Had sony VAIO's for 4 years now.. never ever had a problem, although sonicstage is crap as it wont convert cd's to MP3 which i didn't find out untill puting half my CD colection on my computer!!

Absolutely fantastic bits of kit mate, never had any problems with them. Don't buy a samsung laptop though... we use them at work, have 29 of them, and so far 22 of them have had to be sent back (in 7 months :O) Might just be the model though, as they are all the same.

IMO Sony's are the most desirable laptops out there. The one I have now is excellent. You can get better spec from others and also cheaper, but the quality of design and build is much better than anything else. As an all round package they are unbeatable (IMO of course!). Dave
