Can anyone tell me what size speakers are in the front doors, i think they're 6" but i'd rather not take the door cards off until i have new speakers.

 

Rears are 6x4's - thats easy

Do a search....there are about 2.4 million threads on speaker sizes. ;)

 

Fronts are 16.5cm

got 6x9 jbl gto in mine

Only i did a search and a few posts said that there are different sizes in UK and Jap specs, plus the rears have specific brackets and only JBL fit?

BTW, it's only the rear speakers that vary in size. Either 6x4s or a round speaker, not sure what size, maybe 15cm? With a chassis mount.

Mine are deffo 6x4's, found some going cheap on Ebay. I'm not into ICE that much but when your speakers are farting it's time to change them.

 

By the way, you got any tips on mounting a standard stereo in the dash, the one ive got needs to stick out pround of the dash by about 1cm to allow the clip on facia that came with it to fit, seems like the slot in the dash is a standard DIN but its recessed and stereo facias are slightly larger.

Other than trim the surround, I don't know. I'd leave the surround off and push the unit in as far as it'll go.

 

I'm not too into ICE either. Like you, my speakers crackle and fart. Must change them. Have quite a high powered head unit in there.

have you seen those cheap 7" LCD's and DVD packages on Ebay, about £80 each?

Rears may not be 6x4, they may be circular like mine.

Easy and 300ZX don't sit too well in the same sentance
