I use copper ones, but need to be replaced avery 3000 miles, the part number is NGK ZFR7F-11 Excellent plugs IMHO!! But quite hard to get hold of!

i removed unipart plus plugs think they were standard crap though car seems a little more responsive with platinum plugs in

Cheap or incorrect plugs could damage an engine, if they melted and bits when through the turbos etc. They could also lead to detonation and piston damage. However, if yours were the 'right' plugs, then all that would probably happen is that they'll wear out faster.

Platinum plugs will not make that much difference to car performance but a decent set of densos fitted will help. The platinums are better reknowned for their longer life .

Iridium by far, the conductivity of iridium allows a much smaller electrode point to be used and allows for less voltage drop .I had these im my tuned 620ti and couldnt fault em even with the t25 turbo running at 14psi but i did use one grade cooler spark plug.

Retro, you at the meet on Sunday? Sorry for off subject but tried to Pm you but couldn't,prob because your not subscribed? I see family neat Penzance reguarly. Dave

Nah mate im just looking into buying A zed ( now the bank manager has funded my need ) and am looking round for a good TT, preferably manual....not in a rush to buy , just want a good un.

hi matey , i used to own a rover 620ti, loved em , long story, but theres a few good zeds on here for sale just look in the for sale section, ,plenty of us willing to help , info is power ,,

Im "trying" to find an unmolested one...and i do say trying...I want to know that I am starting from spec before i change it....most of the ones on here are allready personalised.Mind U bonsai cars are getting a tasty silver one in with all the basics done and hitting out 340 ponies.....hmmm.

I loved my 620 ti but it didnt like putting 220hp and 218 lb ft through the box and spat its diff bearings out the pram so decided to go jap

2 points - plat tip plugs have smaller electrodes giving a stronger spark

also, although there may not be much difference when new, copper plugs would wear so much quicker in a turbo engine that performance drop would be fairly rapid!

i would stick with the proper platinum plugs IMHO

Have only heard of problems with irridiums avoid them!

agree with the above

best is nissan IMO 11b or 11c rating ngk brand

Must be a Zed thing on the iridiums then . I had densos on my 620 ti running 14 psi boost from a standard t25 and never had a problem with em, and yes the plat plug does have a smaller tip but the iridium is much smaller but i bow to youre knowledge as im only a buyer and not an owner here.Anyone know why the iriduims dont cut it in the zed? as id be interested to know.

I had Iridiums in mine for a a while, they were OK, but didn't last nearly as long as they should, and only a fraction as longs as the OEM plats. Plus they were damn expensive!

Not really they were crap in my Ca18DET as well!

Just out of interest, Unipart are made by Champion.

Having tried most suitable plugs and had lots of feedback, NGK Iridiums are better value overall than Densos, much cheaper and last twice as long as standard Denso Iridium Power plugs. Densos seem to be more fragile generally. I think a lot of negative opinion for Denso plugs is unjustified - it's usually due to people fitting the wrong part due to a lack of understanding of Denso's heat range scales. There's a lot of sharks selling on ebay etc who don't really care if they're selling you the right part or not.

Denso's recommended Iridium part for Z32 is VK20PR-Z11 (not IK20 as many people have fitted) - bet not many have tried these ;-) quite expensive and difficult to get hold of, last much longer and should perform better though.

Cheers,

RobH
