Doh !

The Decision on Turbos is lingering somewhere in the realms of GT2530 territory. Not sure wheather to get those or go for some Garret Full ball bearing Turbos at 758 each from the UK, The company assure me that they are the same turbos (i.e Garret Ballistic Concpet 2 turbos) with Garret housings instead of the HKS ones, which i know is correct, only thing im not sure of is are the tellin me whoppers.

 

The GT2530 kit is about 3800 Dollars from Japan. (+ shipping and Tax and shit).

If your reading this weren't you putting the GT turbos on one of your cars ? did you have any problems mating the exhaust Adaptors to the Cats ? Mine is a UK spec Mk one which has the Nissan Downpipes on both sides instead of cats. Any other problems on the install ??

talk you out of it mo way m8 in fact the garrett jobbies are the doggies danglies and now i know how cheap they are i think you've changed my mind for me. these are like the t5r volvo beasties but with more bollox and if these fit then wwwaaahhheeeeyyyyyyy it'll give me even more coin left over for the hardening of all the other bits i need to do. if you do get these can you let me know how you get on. i had a feeling they were doing them for hks just like jun badge up their stuff that cosworth make for them

If someone can proove or demonstrate the amount lag and cure my fears I would get them too and we've have a group buy on our hands.

bollox to lag if i'm gonna spend all my time on a drag strip then maybe but when these beasties spool up the 10-30 yard advantage anything had on you wont be worth shit as you rocket past.if you've ever seen a t5r or for that matter a lotus carlton spooning along you will know how good these are and i for one will put my money on these and i'll bet that you still get to keep ure old one to recondition for when you get old and want to slow down. oh happy days at last something that isnt going to roger me rigid just one of these will cost less than my rad and matrix incidents and only 100 quid more than a major service

oh god now you have me going if those turbos are the same size as the hks ones then im in right now.

i have been speaking to a guy in the states with the hks ones and he says they are the best things he has ever baught , turbo lag is neglegable as they are roller bearing and when they come on boost all he can say is whooopeeedooo.

the hks kit is expensive as you get headers and absolutly everything you need to fit the kit.

i gather from garrett all you are getting is the turbos,

so do they fit straight on ?

and what elsed o you need.

 

 

Where do I find the spec on these and details of difference in turbine sizes, max psi / bhp info before the Z starts to detonate...

Nice one guys, bloody good job of talking me outta gettin em there.

 

First off tooley my boy, if you are heading for 800bhp you want the Greddy TD05h kit, apparently Lag is not too much worse than the GT2530's which are only rated about 600hp i think. priced aobut $4200 for the kit, these things are the ONLY turbos for high HP mate, friend of mine has em on his Supra and DAM! they are nasty.

 

Read in a Japanese Tuning Mag that the GT2530 turbos are good for 450RWHP on a Stock lump , top and bottom end, Lag is only very marignally worse than stock.

 

Jez, i share your worries about spool up time, i think these ball bearing ones are about the best you are gonna get between spool up and HP, fitting the JWT N2O Anit Lag kit is always a route to follow, i think it is about 600 Dollars for the full kit.

I have been in Bernie's Z and we kicked off with a 5000rpm launch.

 

All I can say is.....ahhhhhhhhh!!

 

Sideways, wheelspin, traction control, sideways, wheelspin, wheelspin ahhhhhh 2nd gear with 6000rpm and still wanting to wheelspin.

Steve. I`ve saved you a small fortune in the past. Big Turbo`s do mean Big Bucks however I am always on hand to help if I can.

Anyone who is interested in persuing this mad route has to bear in mind the integrity of their engine, transmission and gear box.

It may prove to be be a costly excersise and please please please change your brakes.
