Conzult, Running Rich and Mods???!!!??

I need a little help...

I have a 300zx and its running rich... loads of black soot over the exhaust and drinks more than it should..

I think it started after i changed the exhaust and go the decat put on (maybe something to do with loss of back pressure - could that be a reason)

Will a Conzult test sort out the problem and get it running right again?

I am getting an airfilter and grounding kit for it - should i fit these before doing the test?

Cheers

The ConZult will tell you if your 02 sensors are dead - that is a very likely cause ...

reset your ECU and do a conzult for the o2's as andy said, i had a problem with running rich at high RPM as well as low RPM and a ECU reset cured it, i replaced my o2s a few months back anyway

i have also noticed that my exhuast has a bit of soot on it, i actually cleaned the end of the pipe the other week to see how long it would take to blacken up again. its black again now.

i know mines idleing to fast, but as for the 02 sensors when i had a datascan test done by white zed it showed no problems other than the idle a little high, would it not show faulty 02 sensors?

Most cars will have sooty exhausts running on unleaded fuel.

Did you take the car up to 2000rpm+ and hold it there, and check if the o2 sensors signals were moving in a continous sweeping motion ?

It wont actually tell you, other than you watching the Signal to see what its doing.

ok..

white zed, bring your datascan along again matey...

will check it over again, also if some of the guys at the meet suday can check mine over in the engine bay to let me know what needs looking at, suggestions etc..

ok mate how about remove the engine and fit a smaller one so u can get a hog roast in there lol

i have tried that already!!

however there is a book on how to cook items in tin foil on the engine of your car.

i may do that put a nice bit of beef in some foil and wedge it on top of the block, by the time i hit gordano it will be ready!
