Fitting 6x9s in the front door pods?

 

do the original grills come off easy enuf and can i still use them afterwards???

 

dont wana start tearing parts off interior if they dont go back together..

the grilles are held in with tiny self tappers and clipped in the other side. its hard to get a decent pair of 6x9's shallow enough to clear the window. unless u built out the door card with MDF to deepen the frame. why not just get some round 3 way spkrs and get some 6x9's for the back.

I personally would'nt bother with fitting 6x9's to the front. A Decent set of 16.5cm components will sound better and easier to fit.

Agreed. The last owner had the doors cut out (very good job though) so no choice but to replace the crappy 6x9's he used for a decent set of pioneers.

 

But the setup on my previous zed was components front and back which i found far superior.And cheaper.

6x9's are way too big. I just bought a pair for my Zed and although some cutting would be required, they'd just stick out of the bottom of the doors.

 

I'm not going to fit them now, instead I'll fit some decent 17cm Coaxials. Really want to retain the OEM fitment inside the car.

the reason i said 6x9s because looking at them it seems like they would fit and the girlfreinds got a pair kicking about could swag them lol! but id be quite happy fitting a descent pair of 16cm ones!!!!!!
