Hey listers what are the absolute giveaways that would tell if your 1992 JDM TT was a 'series 2' or not?

series 2 has

1)seat belt on the side panel not on the door itself

2)alcantara interior NOT tweed

3) different heater controls

they are the obvious signs bud especially the seatbelts

What were the older heater controls like? How did they differ?

Heat dialed up with analogue type dial rather than later choice of the actual number, digital type.

Nope, all digital.(except the later spec, non-aircon option) THe difference is that the Series 2 onwards had a button for controlling Vent direction, instead of just automatic.

Main way to tell is series 1 air con controls shows the outside temperature.

Not all series 2 had alcantara - some had tweed

I got asked this while selling mine - 1995 model

Guy checked it out and got back to me - chassis number made it Sept 1995 and while he was at it he asked guru-garage-man about the trim.

Turns out some had tweed. Mine is black.

all the electrical connections are in better condition :D
