Well Guys, The Zed is on the ramps and getting (amongst other things) its urethane master bushing kit fitted. It sure has a lot of bushes to replace. Anyway as luck would have it when preparing to drop the rear sub-frame I noticed a diff oil seal just weeping so that will be replaced to (lucky avoided cooked diff). During the course of the day I called luke at the Z centre and we talked a little bit but he was busy (just come back of his hols) so I didn't get to ask everything. It says in the 300zx enthusiasts companion that the euro spec diff was different due from the J-Spec due to higher running speeds does anyone know how it was different? Additional oil-cooler? larger? different gearing?

Also Luke said the rear anti-roll bar was thicker on euro-spec cars. Has anyone done this mod to their J-Spec or upgraded via an aftermarket one. Whilst I am re-bushing the car it would make sense to do it....... Cheers

well mate , the only thing im aware of is there is 2 different rear diff ratio.s one for n/a and one for the t/t. the na is 4.10 and i think the t/t is 3.69. If you change for the N/A then u will get quicker 0-60 but lose around 20mph top end . I have had this done and my t/t changed for strengthened n/a ratio internals and makes a massive difference IMHO. but not aware of the difference on the euro model bud.

Also aftermarket anti roll/sway bars are an excellent upgrade too , stock ones are hollow , something like the stillen ones are solid and people swear by them !!

yep uk cars have an additional oil cooler for the diff, and for the gearbox

which is not needed on the more populated roads of japan etc

TBH if there was an issue with added cooling then any import would suffer from overheating which is fairly un-common!

the only important oil cooler to replace is the gearbox one uk ones were fitted with larger oil coolers

Thanks Greg I am doing the gearbox cooler right now with Lukes (zcentre) neat solution (uprated engine cooler and stock engine cooler becomes autobox cooler) I will check out the uk spec diff
