Another Brembo question for ya...

The standard z brakes have shims on the pads...

Are they needed/required/fitted on the R33 GTR Brembos?

Yes GTR brakes come as standard with shims, they arent needed but can be a lifesaver when it comes to sqeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

Exactly what sort os squeeling would i get that is mentioned above...is it really bad or bearable?

Do the shims also act as a heat shield or is it just a squeeling thing?

or is it more for the spacing of the pads???

Never seen any with shims and never had any joy finding some, have an anti squeal pad I will be trying out soon :)

They are R32 Calipers which are the same as Z32 calipers.

Turns out they are aftermarket shims, my bad

My 350z calipers have shims, I just assumed that all Brembos would have them.

So thanks to all the help and links and it looks like i just fit em n hope...lol

if they squeel then plaster them in copper grease :wack:

Looks to me like a sachet of grease that would come for the backs of the pads ...

The Nissan FAST lists it as "GREASE-BRAKE". Something along the lines of anti-squeal copper grease perhaps?
