As the van is off the road for a little while, i've been droppin the daughter off at school in the Z, has been a lovely experience UNTIL TODAY!!! Don't like driving in the wet after my sideways action the last time i was caught in the rain, but no other choice. Dropped her off NO probs, heading home, water temp gauge shot throught the roof, pulled over straight away

I've been keepin an eye on my water levels since the last meet i went to where she leaked water out, and last time i checked, the levels they were fine.

What could cause this sudden change in behavier??? On the sunny days I've been driving normal speed, maybe pushin it now and again, today being wet I'v limped around corners and not done any great speeds at all.

Any advice oh wise ones???

cheers in advance

Mine has just done the same. It can get through about a pint of water every 2 miles! Can't even figure out where it's leaking from :( It could possibly be one of the hoses from the engine to radiator, they're supposed to be a weak link.

Dont want to worry you but it be head gasgett failure.

Best do a check

I was up your way yesterday,I will give you a shout when I am there again and give you a hand to check it out.

Was gonna say when its not raining, before finger slipped.

More likely to be split hose, right down the back as usual.

Try the two at the back of the engine bay in the middle, and tighten all water hose clips.

air in the system being released by cap removal

as per the overheating....could be gasket, faulty rad cap, leak or pinhole in a pipe or matrix sucking in air...but you would get wet in the passenger footwell with that one

MMMNN...Just replaced all of my coolant hoses at the back as there was a leak....was only one pipe, slightly split but replaced five...easy off...well not so if you got big arms, but nightmare to put the new ones on...Lol

Lost alot of skin from knuckles and lost my other half's (Snap-on) screwdriver...he asked me to reach it coz I got skinny arms, but I pushed it on the gearbox...oops! Did fall out...somewhere.

Still they're done now...No more leak and no more hissing noise...Job done
