Had my Z a couple of weeks now, at full boost there seems to be a high pitched whistling noise which I thought may be normal, however I have also noticed that my boost gauge is only going up to 0.5 bar rather than the 0.6 it should be! Is this a boost leak, if so what can be done? Or could it be something else?

Sounds like a boost leak. If you can hear such a high pitch sound, it sounds quite major.

 

Boost leaks are most of the time a split hose or clamp which is not on enough.

 

A way of finding leaks is to block off the front air intake where the air filters are and pump air in. It is then very easy to hear the air leaking with the engine turned off.
