I only say 'yes' so willingly because I'm out of the country, otherwise I might be a bit more reserved about it.... hmm, actually no, probably not. It's a hassle, but worth it if the government listens.

I think we need to close the door on immagrants and flush out all the benefit cheating chavs! I think this would surely ease public spending and maybe cut back on congestion and overcrowding and all the problems that go with it. Maybe then it would give the goverment some room in their budget to save us some pennies at the pump.

It just goes to show how much Tony and co are making from us screwing us for 85% tax when you hear of companies like Shell making profits of something like 9 billion for one year!

Think about it, if Shell can make profit like that after having to first drill for the oil, then transport it, refine it and transport it again and then pay for the petrol stations and all the staff etc, then imagine how much the goverment make, they have no overheads and they get 86p in every pound! :smash:

YES THE GOVERMENT R STICKIN UP OUR ARSES !!!

theres really no need, i heard the other day that B&Q are laying off a load of people because of sales slowing, this in my mind is a sure sign that the economy is slowing because people are generally finding they have less disposable income (due to increase in fuel cost + knock on effect). its only a matter of time before the chancellor is forced to slice the tax on fuel or we're fookt!

YES THE GOVERMENT R STICKIN UP OUR ARSES !!!

Ok hands up who voted for Labour again?

NOT ME!

didnt vote 4 anyone all as**oles

What do the Govenment do with all the taxes? There are 60 million people living in the UK all getting shafted big time. The UK is the 3rd richest nation on earth yet one of the most expensive to live in???

I'm living in Canada now. There are only 30 million living out here and paying far less in taxes than the UK. Public services are better, the heath system is better, the country is alot cleaner and general standard of living is much higher. I think Canada is the 10th richest nation. If other countries can manage why cant the Uk? What ever happened to GREAT BRITAIN????

I want to move back to the UK in few years because I actually love the place but I dont think i'm going to bother if it carries on the way it is.

Andy

the worse thing about how expensive petrol is, is its a by product of refining oil?!?!

how facked up is that and no wonder the shells and bp's of this world are pi55ing themselves laughing at this as it costs next to nothing to make petrol

must dust my sinclair C5 down :)

Oh and makes me pi55 myself that most people who support the fuel protest are going to fill up the day before!?!? i bet all the government and petrol stations are going to be real scared now  all it means is the day before there going to get a massive intake in revenue so it wont make any difference, just means they can afford to take a few days off

VOTE FOR LABOUR

NOT ME EITHER

I did vote Labour, sorry NEW labour the first time. But when they started lying so outragously within a few weeks I knew I had got it wrong.

Never did it again.

2 days of protests wont make much difference, but a week would. Its not just the topic, its the unrest that goverenments cant take. A small thing like this can lead to the downfall of a government. if we stick to it.

We should all make a stand and tell our respective employers that we can not afford to get to work. If everybody did this, within a few days the country would grind to a halt...but there are always going to be people who refuse to do this mostly because of the fear of what might happen.

Personally I feel that petrol is unfortunately something essential for me to get about, therefore I am not going to spend money on other things like general (non-food) shopping, eating out, donations to charity etc.

If everybody does the same the economy will take a big hit, but then they might lower interest rates so property market will then go up....never ending is it :smash:

I think we've already crossed the line of reasonable sense and this country is on its way to a bit of a crisis. Government = :xxx:

Surely its not nessarily the goverment that is the problem here, although yes the tax from Fuel is f*cking rediculous, but the Petrol companies too

Shell make a profit of £1.6 million an hour, and have announced the biggest year profit earning of any UK company. Then you have the other Major Supplier's BP and Esso on top of that, plus the minor stations.

Profit, Profit, Profit !

Then they blame price increases on rising oil prices !

As petrol is a basic need for 98% of the people in this country it should have its price controlled. In my area you can pay 94.9 (Esso) or 99.9 (indepenent) per litre for diesel. Someone is ripping us off just in the retail price variations.

But the Gov steal the most in tax, and rub their hands together every time the price goes up as they get more VAT. If they had any decency they would vary the tax to keep the price reasonable. But they dont care.

If that faggot Blair had to buy his own fuel, and had to live on average wages he might feel different. I bet he dosnt even know how much a litre costs.

Sure it has been suggested before, but wouldn’t a more sensible fuel protest be to boycott just one big fuel company like Shell or BP. I guess that they would be bound to bring prices down in an effort to start selling fuel again, which would have the knock on effect of making the other companies reduce their prices as well.

Just one snag…….how do you organise it?

Just been to put some optimax in and TBH i drove straight out

108.9 for optimax

Blockaaaaaaaaaaaaade!!!!! Got to feel like we're doin somethin. Optimax might keep going up to 1.50 and on and on. If everyone pitches in we'll get noticed before this happens???????????

Funny how when fuel goes up, through no fault of the Gov or petrol companies, (Yeah Right) It never seems to come down as much as it went up.

Big protest like the french I feel.....Block towns solid, if there is enough we would be safe.

but I doubt it will happen

I don't think it will do any good to be honest, what did the last one do? fook all the price stayed the same:( :xxx:

Sad but true there Mac.

Otherwise I'm all for it just to give the government a bit of a bloody nose - but please leave it until after 24th :smash:

I'm taking the ZX (and wife  ) on holiday that week and I want to be able to re-fuel it

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Ok hands up who voted for Labour again?

NOT ME!

Me neither, bunch of immigrant welcoming arse shagging :xxx:s

Another fuel crisis will do little to them in the long term. Look at the 2000 blockades - Labour was so unpopular in Sept 2000 due to fuel taxes etc but all that was forgotten come the June 2001 election

Richard
