Hello,

I have just purchased a 300zx twin turbo auto 1991. It drives lovely and sounds amazing, however, when I fully open the throtle it seems like it is hitting a limiter at around 6000rpm and it does not change gear straight away.

Has anybody had this problem and does anyone has any iodeas of what it could be?

I have disconected the battery to see if I could reset the ECU, thinking that it could be something to do with the memory, but that hasn't worked.

Look in the auto transmission section under trouble diagnosis, hopefully will have some answers. Dave

I have had a look in the FAQ under transmissions, but couldn't find anything. Is there another area to look at, I can't find trouble diagnosis. Am I just being blind, or is it that subconsciously I don't want to find out what could be wrong.

Yes, now that yuo mention it, it does just seem to be first and second. Its just like it is hitting a limiter and the gear change seems to take a few seconds.

When my old one started to do that the gearbox blew a month later, drop the oil out the gearbox and put fresh in, also clean the filter in the Pan. If you dont have the extra oil cooler for the gearbox BUY ONE!!!

Just hope its not too late mate. :(

I don't feel to good now. But thanks for the info. I will get it done straight away.
