Hi guys,

As you probably have guessed I am a newcomer to this forum. I own a TT 2 Door import, colour Metallic Black and I live in Bristol.

I am looking for a decent garage in the South somewhere, I know about Silvia but it is quite a way to travel. I have found a garage based in Aldershot called 'Tuning Japanese'. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything good / bad about these people.

Up until now I have had good results from Wessex Nissan in Bristol but my car is getting more modified and I need to find a garage who knows what they are doing.

Also, I have HKS Vein Pressure Converter on my 300, anyone know where I can find out how to use it ?

Cheers.

Mark.

I got my car imported by Japatrans in Dorking. They recommended SAS in Aldershot to me if I needed any work or upgrading done. I think they've now changed their name to Tuning Japanese. I haven't used them myself though.

The HKS VPC is designed to physically and electronically replace OE metering devices which present a significant restriction to the intake system and offer no adjustment or reprogramming options to take advantage of dramatically higher air flow or larger fuel injectors. The VPC converts both air flow or larger fuel injectors. The VPC converts both air flow meter and air mass sensor systems to what is referred to as speed density systems by utilizing a 16 bit central processing unit reading its own intake air temperature sensor and absolute pressure transducer signals. This unique conversion feature not only allows the VPC to replace the factory air flow metering device, but also eliminates the need for a fuel cut defencer. Another benefit of the VPC is the ability to create our own programs to take advantage of larger fuel injectors and new air flow characteristics (larger turbos). In some specific instances, the VPC may be used in addition to the PFC F-Con and larger injectors for the ultimate in

HKS plug-in Fuel system technology. VPC equipped vehicles respond quicker with improved horsepower. To take full

advantage of the VPC, HKS VPC Power Flow adapters with the HKS Super Mega Flow air filter should be used.

OK Mark. Hope this helps.

Johnny,

Thanks for your reply. I am running Dual HKS Super Mega Flow air filters but how can I tell if I have the HKS VPC Power Flow adapters installed as well.

As you can probably guess I am not a mechanic so go easy !!! ;-)

Has anyone else got this setup installed ?

Cheers.

Mark,

Quick suggestion is too look for Dual MAS sensors that is probably why the VPC was installed. The Nissan ECU would well.. Shit itself if you gave it two MAS inputs.

If you have two MAS hooked up chances are the VPC is doing something. I take it the VPC is always on or your car shuold be running like shit unless the rest of the hardware was removed. A point to note is i wouldn't dick with it too much unless you know what you are doing or it will probably lean out you supply and do something very bad to the engine. If you are lucky it will have been tuned to spec for your car. Another point of note however is that if the car is japanese it may well be tuned for 100Oct fuel so again be very carefull. Try having a word with either Johnny if he has tuned there systems before or failing that try Hiteq Performance (details in the links section) as i know they have installed such kits on 300s before so it would be worth having them retune it for you.

Also your can may well have larger injectors and or Turbos if it came from Japan equipeed with the two intakes as you dont get a lot of benefit from the Dual Intakes without the larger injectors.

If you give me a call I will put you in touch with Kiki at Option, which is not too far from you.

The guy is more than capable of helping you out. I have contracted work with Kiki for more than 12 months now and found him to be

excellent.

Is there an easy way to tell visually if the injectors are upgraded ?

I suppose it would be easier to ask how can you tell if the injectors are stock ?

Cheers.
