Hmmm following the 60k service thread by Tim I took the time to give my opinion and that`s all it is, and thats what the forum is for,and usually works well.However at the end of my post seems I have made the error of placing a link to a page on my web site that if I am not mistaken was requested by you guys on the forum some time ago detailing a few prices on services I do as an enthusiast not a trader.Question do we stop the links and the possible advantages they can have for some or shall we keep them but only on certain days? like when Mommy Duff is washing her hair.

If Jeff, Smithy, Johnny, Bob(Safe&Sound) etc have a service or products that can help the Z community I dont have a problem with a link showing where the info is. It's your choice to click the link or not. It's not as if the link is a 600 x 200 pixel Jpg adlink.

 

Other forums dont have a problem with a link showing a users website or business e.g:

Gary at GT-ART and Shin at Prospec on the GTR board http://www.gtr.co.uk/ . Justin and Branners with torqueic on the Supra MKIV board http://www.mkivsupra.net/bbs/ , Jez from Horsham developments, Matt S from Octane Performance and Bren from APEX Performance on the 200SX board http://www.nissan200sx.co.uk/ . The moderators on those boards have no problems, maybe because the above people contribute a lot of technical info and tips.

 

As Jeff mentioned the link was requested by members a while ago due to the interest of forum members and the constant request for prices and info from Jeff. As far as I recall Craig has only stepped in once at the end of last year due to a new user posting items for sale in threads where they were not appropriate.

 

I understand your concerns that this board may end up looking like the back pages of Max Power or something but I dont see it happening as yet.

If dodgy wares or services were hawked on the General board people would step in and deride the products or company in question(e.g Warren only jokin mate ) and Nick and Craig would probably step in.

I for one suggested it to Jeff before, cos there were a lot of threads asking if Jeff could do jobs and how much. I thought (and think) it was a good idea for him to do work for us, with less technical knowledge (and don't want to be ripped off by so called Nissan mechanics(apart from Darren of course)).

I don't care when craig steps in or not - there is a time and a place for everything but FFS when somebody has a problem and somebody says oh I'll help you, but there's a fee, then what is this place coming to??? I've helped people fix their cars before and I like helping them - I don't hand them a menu with all my prices on FFS!

Opinions are opinions and duffman shared his, and for one i agree with him. If a company like Heavon forbid SILVIA ENGINEERING (I just couldent think of a lower life form) came on here with a sole purpose of replying with prices and quotes direct to us im very sure they would be asked to pay a fee for advertising. And that is the point duff was trying to make. Why (and please of please dont take offence to this) Should someone like jeff come on here and say "ive found a way of fixing x" but im not telling you im charging you. (just an example jeff) The point is to share your experience about the zedcar and that leads me to another point. Wankers like suprat or whatever Common craig just delete them if they come back as somone else delete them again. What a load of crap this place has turned into.

 

Another point i have no problems with people like jeff and smithy sharing what they do, but then you say "well i think that is a rippoff " and the whole world shoots you down. Just like duff expresses his view and gets shot down. Why is it they are allowed to advertise there stuff but when someone has something to say against it everyone gets there tits in a knot.

 

One for one i say.

 

And we have so many self proclaimed experts on here that when someone tells of his way to fix it ends up in a fight because it is not done the way the other person thinks it should.

 

Just like the TTNET there are all of about 5 people on that forum i would trust with advise and it is the same here except its only two or three on here.

 

So to end a long story if youve read this far

A: Lets keep it civilised (no mama jokes cause maby someones mom is not around anymore)
