We are having a wicked thunder storm at the moment (fingers crossed that the power doesn't go off :x: ), and the sky out of my office window is as black as night, but out the back it looks beautiful - waddyafink?

Jeez, this thunder is getting worse, the house is really rocking now!!

Funny you should mention it mate, I was outside about 40 minutes ago photographing it myself! Over here (Shirley, Solihull way) the quality of light was really strange...almost a bruise yellow coupled with broiling clouds and the odd flash of lightning...seventh seal-tabulous! :D

Thats a stunning picture mate. Always good to get the moment on picture. Dave

I drove back from Heathrow to Peterborough on a bike earlier this evening.

The lightning I saw was amazing.

At first I saw it from about 60 miles away and thought it was fireworks.

Then i got close - it seemed to be striking at the edge of the road. It struck as often as three times a second and some bolts held for over a second.

It was so bright and lit the sky up purple.

I've seen tropical storms and all sorts of weather all over the world but nothing came close to this for spectaucular lightening - it was pretty terrifying on a bike!

Good pic Peach - I tried taking some of the lightning but couldn't manage to.

It's like that as Sir Hume has just signed for City  too good for you lot he is

 at E.T.

me and a couple of my lads were out in the rain yesterday too (at work that is) - about 8pm. all was nice and sunny, then grey, then someone flicked a giant switch and it absolutely hammered it down!!! wicked thunder and lightning tho
