NZR - Question about FTO's

A mate of mine is after buying a Mitsubishi FTO. He rang up for a quote on insurance and they said all FTO's are imports. Does anyone know if this is true?

    No it isn't, Ralliart have been selling UK ones since about '98/'99.

    Only reason I know this is because I had an FTO before the Z.
