Phonecall at 4pm from my Wife, hysterical to say she had just been in a Head on collision on a Single carriageway in her MPV. My 7 month old daughter and mother-in-law also in the car.

Jumped in car, and screeched there to find Wife in ambulance, Daughter on Respirator and mother-in-law at side of road in neckbrace surrounded my paramedics.

Spent the evening in Hospital, Wife and daughter now home. Cuts and bruises on my wife. Baby suffered whiplash and has bruises where car seat harness digged in, but both ok.

Mother-in-law having to stay in hospital, with fracturered Ribs and breathing difficulties.

It seems to be my Wifes fault...2 cars in front started slowing, so did she, then they stopped suddenly, her ABS kicked in, car would'nt stop in time and she swerved just before coming to a hault, hitting a Ford Galazy (doing about 60mph - the legal speed limit) coming the other way.

Both cars very much write off's. One of the kids in other car seemed quite badly hurt :( , but not critical. Driver of Galazy had huge go at my wife, threatening to hunt her down and kill her, before I arrived.

The Road (major carriageway into City) is still closed, 7 hours later.

:( :( :(

Jeez Dave, I felt ill reading that :(, I'm really glad you're family are all still with us and on the mend, and I hope that everyone else involved turns out ok too. We all know that these things do happen, but we all pray that they don't happen to us - so I really feel for you right now.

I hate to be the one to preach but, let this be a lesson to us all.

omg - i hope everyone comes out of it ok

regards,

alex

Thank god everyone is still alive. My thoughts are with you mate... :(

OMG! We are so sorry to hear that. If there is anything either of us can do then dont hesitate to ask. I hope everyone recovers asap. xxx

glad to hear everyone is walking wounded, could have been a lot worse given the circumstances...i know that heart in mouth feeling cos i had a similar call from my wife some months ago...a fella went through a no entry down a one way into her MPV...got out and had some choice words for her saying it was her fault for not looking...!!! honest to god....i was one street away so ran round...when he tried the same line with me i shot him a look and he shut the hell up....main thing was wife & kids were ok

Sorry to hear this Dave, thank god no fatalities, sounds like it was a close one mate,a speedy recovery for all concerned.

Really scary - I hope everything goes OK All the best

Just seen this thread, hope everyone involved has a speedy recovery, hope the other guy's children are all going to be ok.

But even if it was 'in the heat of the moment' he had no right to threaten her like that.

Make sure you tell the cops.

All the best,

Robert & Wendy.

coulnt believe it when i read it dave !! feel for ya mate, Glad everyone isnt too bad. hope everyone recovers asap .

Don't know you, as a newbie on the forum, but like everyone else, I wish you and your family all the best and a speedy recovery...

Been where you are now with my missus mate & its well scary. Just goes to show how instinct kicks in when faced with the dilemma of knowing your not going to stop in time. Its a survival thing that makes us choose the seemingly safer option, although this isnt always the case as proven here. My thoughts are with you n your family as well as the other people involved. Just shows how fragile & vulnerable we really are.

Only just seen this David. Hope everyone is doing ok and there are no problems!
