Hi everyone, I am new to the 300zx scene and have just bought a '92 TT (manual) and have been driving about getting used to it etc. Had a bit of a worry this morning when it wasnt boosting properly but that was only a pipe that had come loose, thankfully. But i am paranoid about every little sound there is and today have noticed a whistly noise at peak boost (standard 0.6 bar). There is a whooshy noise at normal boost anyway but im assuming thats just the HKS filters sucking in, but i havnt noticed the whistly noise until 2day? The boost seems healthy and theres no smoke when boosting so am I being over paranoid or is there cause for concern?

I know its difficult without hearing it but has anyone experienced anything similar?

Thanks.

Mine makes the odd noise sometimes.........if all seems well don't worry,

(easier said than done)

On these cars you don't get the induction roar with Performance air filters like other cars.

Yeah, I get a bit of turbo noise: not much mind you, but you can hear them if you're paying attention. Asked about this a while back, because if you look around the 'net you might be led to believe that the turbos are absolutely silent (unless you're going through a tunnel), which I've become convinced is not entirely accurate. That said, you shouldn't get a lot of noise I think.

Maybe theres someone in your area who you could meet up with. Always good to compare cars and the like. Dave
