Here's a handy tip for those grubby alloys...

Try hot water(hotter the better) with a squirt of washing-up liquid (even cheap brands) will shift those stubborn marks. I've been doing in for years and it works better than many wheel cleaner sprays...BUT you must rinse it all off soon after with lots of plain water as the washing-up liquid can eat into the laquer or alloy coating.

Too much elbow grease needed with this. I use Wonder Wheels. Works a treat.

Wonder wheels eh ?

Good stuff I agree but not for all types of alloy wheels.

Read the small print !!! I got bitten by Wonder Wheels, my alloys have pitch marks in the laquer (speeling ?!?).

Watch the salt that is added to many washing up liquids. I never wash my 300 with washing up liquid, try the cheap old Halfords Car Wash.

I did say for alloys only (not bodywork)and you must rinse with plain water afterwards

I use that wonder wheels stuff too. It's the dogs danglies.

I use just good old plain Hot water. Rinse off, then polish them up.

The trick is to keep on top of your car as both myself and Tooley are aware.

Mark. Your Wheelie cleansing tips should be good for a laugh. Get online.

No - ive not died - I am still here, just been REALLY busy.

Those of you that know me will know I always keep my car in tip-top pristine super-clean condition at all times ;) Including those lurverly wheels...

My tip 4 cleaning wheels - use the autoglym wheel cleaner - its ok on split-rim wheels - gets the shit off pretty good. I also use that turtle wax brake dust barrier - seems to help between cleans.

The autoglym stuff isnt cheap but I find one bottle will last for years ;)
