Had some snotty reply from somebody on ebay who said mine was the first rusting J-Spec car he has heard of. Basically i have a minor amount of bubbling on the rear arches.

So i was wondering, is it just mine of do any other j-spec owners have this problem.

This year mine has shown the first sign of any rust and it's been on one of the sills.

mine is the rear driver side wheel arch where the rear bumper fits on.

Mine is mint in the body department. But then again it has been resprayed after body kit work. :D

None showing/bubbling on mine, just a small bit where a bit of paint was chipped before i bought it!

Nope, can't say I've ever seen any other j-speccers with rust. Mine is as new underneath, but then again, it's not even been in the UK for a month yet.

Marcus, might help in longevity if you washed your car occasionally too. ;)

got some bubbling on the stock spoiler (common) and a couple of very small patches at the driver's door pillar. fingers crossed.

The only spot of rust is where there's a small paint chip, so I'm discounting that!

I do need to get it sorted though...

1 meet out of 14 and this was the first time it wasnt washed, as i was not planning to goto the meet.

My car is normally washed weekly, waxed monthly. The rust bubbles were there when i bought it. Its used daily including in the winter and has been in the UK since 1999 thats probally the reason for the bodywork starting to fade.

Mark n Martyn @ Zen garage said mine was amoungst the best condition (body wise) they'd worked on or seen....all Jap and no salt i guess

Depends how long it's been here I guess.

They're all spotless when they arrive but the rain and salt soon get to work in this country.

Mine has a few bits of rust coming through around the edge of the boot seals and on the inside bottom edge of the drivers door.

Maybe the guy should compare your car with a few of the "desirable" UK examples!

I have a little bubbling on the pass. side front wing...

good excuse for some Viper wings I reckon! lol

well i can say 1 in 3 are starting to show signs off the dreaded salt corrosion. Mind you my reply "you havent seen many Jap Spec Zeds Then" was possibly i little over the top lol

Just replaced passanger side inner and outer sill/quarter panel with repair panels on mine and am about to fit drivers side sill/quarter repair panel. The rust in this area had eaten the metal from the inside hence by the time it was noticed it was quite bad.Few bits of rust round wheel arches due to chipped paint, passanger door has a bubble at the bottom. Still i would say the car is solid for its age ( I've also got a stag and a capri).

shouldnt have bought my uk TT then...ah sh1t!!..in case your wondering , yes that indeed is a drivers side sill.....

Mark

F*** ten times worse than mine, i'm sure its the drain tube that terminates at that point which causes the problem.

Well done mate, looks like a good job.

Mine too! Only happend this year so may have to get the wide arch kit to hide it!
