Right guys. Dont you think its time to show a bit more respect, restraint & even compation for members who make a bit of a fool of themselfs once in a while.

There isn't anyone on this forum that hasn't made a pratt of themself at some time, myself included. We have had claims of cars that do 205mph to Evo spec zeds that I for one have never heard of as well as everything in between. :o

It seems to me that certain members of this forum get jumped on every time they post a thread just for the sake of other peoples amusement. This is nothing more than school yard bullying and its time to rap it up. :wack:

I joined this club for the cars as well as the friendly banter & help offered on this site. It really pisses me off when people who havent been on this forum for more than five minutes give it large at the expense of another new member. This sort or sh1t is dragging this forum down & anyone who is looking to join will no doubt think twice about it when they see how bitchy we are to new members. THIS IS EMBARRASSING

Maybe some of the people on here deserve to get a ribbing every now & then. I myself will no doubt get a bit of negative feedback regarding this thread. But just remember why we are here & what brings us all together. If you actually got chance to meet the people you are ripping to bits, you may find they are allright.

If the people who seem to have been singled out in my description of silly comments are offended, then I appologise. This was just an example of the kind of thing that is being jumped on when made by others.

Surely we are man enough to stand up n be honest with ourselfs & say enough is enough.

Some from me!!! :x:

From what I've seen, it's all relatively light hearted anyway. If you're going to post up poop, then you've gotta be prepared for a big of banter.

Very true spinksy, there are several long term members starting to turn their backs on the forum as there sems to be nothing constructive anymore, just insults and silly comments.

Some is, some isn't Si. I think that will all depend on whethere you are giving or receiving this light hearted banter. I myself even posted a reply on the fist thread. The difference is some of it is getting too personal & too regular to be funny :(

Sounds like a fair shout to me Andy, and if I've been guilty of this, I apologise to anyone I might have offended. I know I'm very grateful for the help and advise received from quite a few of the members.

Cheers,

Bart

Im not a long serving member myself, but have deffo seen a bad down turn in the tone of the forum lately.

One thing this forum doesn't need is any more god damn keyboard ninja's.

Not seen the fist thread, so can't comment really. But do understand what you mean. As a forum, which is club based, I guess we need to portray the club as a friendly filth free enviroment. Although people have a giggle, I guess things can get a bit 'below the belt'. Although I've not paid much attention to it, others will, I'm sure.

Its not just on this board but every board on the net, i go on numerous football forums & other car clubs and its like that on every single club, it's just a fact of life in todays society tbh

Got to be honest, I cant believe some of the nonsense thats posted, but you have to admit, the people who answer those types of posts are fueling the fire.

Point taken Chris bud. But I stopped fighting at football matches in my early twentys. We all have to grow up Sometime.

I agree with you there mate.

A few years ago I would post 9-10 posts a day, but now most of the site content is drivel, or when I see a post worth replying it, is has gone so far off topic with BS again its not worth replying.

Some people may have noticed that I have not yet renewed my subscription, and this is one of the reasons why.

Here Here....

I myself have felt it neccesary to even post on one or two of these threads to try and knock this on its head but they just seemed to carry on and it even encouraged them to some extent to prove their manlyness(spelling :wack: ) and some of it isnt light banter as they turned it into personal insults with no relation to the subject.(this would be fine if you actually know each other and are comfatable in doing so but to unknown people its a bit sad :xxx: )

TBH I quite like the banter about chavs and neons towards and about myself as its all very above board (and deserved..lol) but some of the newer members could feel unsettled by this if they get pounced on straight away.

And yes the word on other forums is not always good about ours due to this reason...the word "click" springs to mind

Although you will notice only those honest and reasonable enough to even understand this will post on this thread due to its nature.

Enough said by me

I've just come back from a weekend away and have scanned that threads that I've missed. There does seem to be much more drivel being posted these days :(

I've been trying to recruit new members by leaving cards on Zed windscreens. Putting myself in the boots of a new visitor, I'm not sure I'd stick around on first impressions :(

It's really not, though - not everywhere.. Heck, even TTnet doesn't have as much in-fighting and random rubbish as here, and that's going some..

The MR2ROC is a good example of a club with pretty much no in-fighting, just the odd bit of sarcasm and primarily technical related posts.. IMOC is a bit more off-topic but generally OK.. 300zx.co.uk seems to be 90% drunken ramble (perhaps a slight exaggeration, but)

Such is life, I suppose.

Maybe there should be a locked jailed forum where members who overstep the mark are named in it and banned from the site for so long??? :o

Kim. These people know who they are & there concience should be enough of a detterant. Lets face it we as civilised adults shouldn't need telling how to behave to one another. ;)

gotta keep it light-hearted, or so easy to fall out in cyberspace. SXOC excel at that -they cannot take a joke/criticism at all !

Couldnt of put it better myself!

Being spoken to and reading typed text is a totally different thing, you read it how you think its said!!

But i do agree, there has been a lot of crap on here lately (myself posting a fair bit aswell). The only thing that really cheese's me off is going off track on thread's (again i know i may do this once or twice) but thats about it that does my nut!!

This club/forum has a huge age difference between members, so there is always going to be things said by the younger members that the olders thnk is crap/stupid etc, but hey thats life!

I'll apoliguise if i have upset/pissed anyone off with any of my posts, but its all in the name of fun!!

I love this place and i feel privalidged to be part of it.

PMSL  Nothing like a protest where no-one notices Stu :D

I don't get to read/post that often anymore, but yeah there's definately less interesting stuff nowadays ;)

I think there are a lot of valid points in this thread - but the one that annoys me most is threadjacking and going completely off-topic. Someone will post up a genuine call for help and before you know it the thread's talking about something else. I'm sure its happened loads of times - Ive probably done it myself before, but let's try and respect the thread-starter and keep changes in topic for a different thread.

As far as newbies go, I've always been told that "the right word at the right time" is the best way of fixing things. Maybe a subtle polite PM to a newbie who has, shall we say, started off with the wrong tone (eg. "cor wikid what carz can my Z rippp?") just to say "hi mate. careful of that last post of yours cos we often get people like that asking otherwise inappropriate questions and some members get frustrated" [blahdy blahdy blah im not really good with words like that] to stop the pi$$-taking from starting and it all getting all out of control.

my tuppence over

(and where's the rant smiley Mike?) :D

ok i know i have been responsible for some of the derogatory and umderhanded comments towards other members of the forum and hey i even get a mention at the start of this thread. but i have just sat here read every word of every post on this thread and realise what i have ben doing is not only childish immature and pointless it could infact have prevented a genuine owner who I did not give due respect to from becoming better involved within the forum.

how would any of us feel if we received the same level of abuse and pi55 taking that some unfortunate members have been jubjected to i will hold my hands up now and appologise to any who have taken offence ay my posts or comment none of them was ever meant to be malicious it only a matter of several weeks since i joined the forum and was welcomed with pleasure into the forum with my stupid z evo question (i didnt know any better at the time), and what do i end up doing placing insulent comments towards others.

on the subject of threadjacking i suppose to some extent we have all done it or followed a post that is off subject again like others i have to agree this is very annoying especialy when looking for information to help fix a poorly zed.

at the end of the day we all own cars that are classic and well respected surely we should be helping each other not acting like a bunch of kids fighting over a simple state of mind. i for 1 will no longer post selfish malicious abusive or derogatory posts.

my appologies to you all

(grovel over)

bit ott, especially the post whoring threads, posts are only worthwhile if you have something to say in them, it isn't a numbers game, i can easily hide the number of posts displayed in your user area, if it goes out of hand even more.
