Gear Knobs a nightmare!

Just got my first Z'd TT and decided to change the gear knob. Not knowing anything about the car, me and my mate tried for hours to get the original off. May seem like a simple job to you gurus out there but unless you have 2 huge mole grips and a strong mate you're in for a rough ride. Anyway, to cut a long story short it took 3 hacksaw blades and a grinder to get it off! and left specs of alloy all over my interior - only to find that it simply screws off. I did try that by the way but those Japs must be strong cause it didn't budge.

Thought this might be a useful bit of advice for anyone else whos just got a Z'd.

LOL, mine keeps unscrewing automatically. Must get round to either replacing it with a momo replacement knob or treadlocking the existing one on.

Forgot to ask, can anyone recommend a good looking gear knob. the one I got looks ok but small/short compared to the original.

Ta, from sunny Wales

Are the gear knobs 10mm or 15mm thread?
