Great! Just fucking great!!!

I've quite possibly having the shittest week in the history of owning a zed (or 2!!). Not only is the wiring loom fucked (dry joint somewhere) so the main feed to the dash is ballsed up and the car keeps not wanting to start......... oh and then the handbrake light that just doesent want to go off even though the handbrake is off........ oh yeah and that really anoying squeek coming from the engine on tickover that i, the main dealer, 2 other garages and my mate cant find......... oh nearly forgot and the really irritating squeek in the morning when u put it into reverse (auto box-just call me grandad!!!).......anyway as i was saying before i was rudely interupted by..... oh...... er..... me,........ anyway a week or so ago i had new anti roll bar link bushes and possy and all was going well until TODAY. I, being the nice guy i am was taking a mate to go and look at a zed. So were driving up the M1 and i start to feel this vibrating......... at first i thought it may be the road surface, but then i thought 'hang on, i know the roads are shit but this is getting silly....' So we pulled over half expecting to see a flat. Oh how i wish it was a flat!!!!!!! 'LUKE, fucking hell two of your wheel nuts have snapped clean off!!!' . Shit the bed!!! Not good, a quick call the AA and my car was at home again. Of course not being bolts but threads and nuts i need a new rear hub, ARSE!!!!! Strong words are on the cards for tomorrow!! If that muppet had checked the tighness after he had rattled em up with the airgun then i would have all this hassle!!! If my wheel had come off we'd have been brown bread!!!!

 

ps. Just to let u all know i sorted the 3 foot flames eminating from my tailpipes!!! CHEERS!!!

You can change the studs in the hubs - search on TTnet for info coz I can't remember the details off hand..

Yeah they are easy to change, i stripped mine

once and i had to replace all 5 on one hub,

just need a bit of brute force.

Isnt the squeek at idle the bonnet? Or does it do it with the bonnet open?

 

Start the engine, get the squeek and then press down on the bonnet where the latch is.

 

Mine was like that, and that was the problem.

Sorry to hear about all your bad luck. I went into your rides section last night and I think your car is great! Don wish to change the subject, but what sort of alloys are they as they really finish the car off. I hope your luck improves for the rest of the year!! Rich.....
