Also do you by any chance know what sort of chips the speedo convertor chips are? The idea is that to convert the speedos on 5 identical cars we buy one chip and have it copied with an EEPROM programmer to make it cheaper

The chips in the speed convertors may not be programmable, they are likely to be much simpler than that, would be curious though, let me know ....

yeah ill try to find out, doesnt matter if the normal chips cant be reprogrammed cos my idea was u could take a copy of the data off one and program it onto a programmable chip cos eeprom chips only cost in the region of 1 pound and u can have them programmed for a 5er. Just got to find out if it would work first.

 

edit- oh yeah i would prefer a 'real' scan but the idea went down the pan so it doesnt really matter any mrow would be nice though if u could do it
