Looks like there's a few musicians amongst us... just out of interest what is it you all do?

Me to start with...

It's more of a hobby than an earner, but I play keys, and my main passion is dance stuff, particularly fond of Big-Beat, but since I got all the kit I needed (analogue modelling synths and the like) I haven't had the time to do much of that.

A few years ago a bunch of us at work formed a band to earn some extra pocket-money- we do covers of soul, funk, and some disco.

So...

What about everyone else?

:)

How can you follow that pic! Lol!

Been involved in music on and off since art college. With me its guitar, guitar and a bit more guitar with singing chucked in for good measure. Used to have a small (compact and bijou;)) home studio but I now use my mates as we collaborate together; my alt/industrial/electro project under the name "The Few" and his chemical beats and triphop stuff under the "Del Piero" banner(our taste in music is nothing if not eclectic!:D) Really need to pull my finger out and do some more as have neglected it of late with the old health goin t1ts up!

ROFL!! Thats awesome mate! Love it.

I attempt to play the guitar and want to learn the piano. Was just thinking about it today actually. I havn't had much of a chance to do it over the last few years, so hoping to get into music a bit soon. I've had almost zero experience playing with other people so don't really have a clue , but I really want to get playing in a band. It always pi*ses me off as I'm quite reasonable on my own, but that doesn't really make you a musician I suppose. I think I'll make it my ambition for next year, about time I got it together. :smash: :nana2:

is to do recordings for other people , and have a set up like

PK1.. :nana2: :nana2:

Used to be in a metal band called SelfHate (played bass then), got signed, recorded our first album, and fell out and split up before we finished production. Ar$e.

Oh, what could have been...... :(

Another guitarist here, although I've also played bass, drums, mandolin (very Spinal Tap), harp and violin on the albums I did way back when...

Played in a huge number of metal / thrash / death bands over the years, did two albums with one of them and toured t'bloody world. For those that have ever wondered what it's like, the life of a heavy metal pop-star is a shit-load better than you think! :D

me swapped me tracksuit for a shakin-stevens look

How'd you know I looked like Rick Parfitt?

LOL, I'd look like Michael Jackson if it meant I could tour the world in a band! You must have had a lot of sex and drugs.

I've got a strat delux, an acoustic strat, and an old classical. Play them all equally bad! Mostly Led zep, Hendrix sort of thing or at least in my imagination! but I like most things. Saw a really good band in Bristol the other day: The Martin Harley band. Very chilled blues sort of stuff, absolutely outstanding talents. The bassist plays a 2 by 4 plank with a couple of strings nailed to it and goes off! the singer guitar player does the most amazing slide (with wah wah) that I've ever heard. Highly recommended. Much the same as you Mark. I like dance Techno and Trance. I also enjoy Drum and Bass. I have used most every Dance Ejay program but Music Director Gold is probably the best when used as a Sequencer. I also use Fruity Loops to generate samples, sequences loops and bass lines etc. I have a Yamaha W7 Synthersizer which I think is absofookinlutely Brilliant. The sounds you can create from it are second to none. I am not a player really although I can sort of play. I do read music allbeit slowly but I can still read it. I have done 4 decent CD's (albums if you like) over the last 6 years. the best of which (although dated now) is called "THE BIG BANG" Its what I call a musical journey through time and space. LOL. I am working on a follow up called "THE BIG BANG II. (Life beyond the stars)" All the words and music are done by myself and I have used a program called "Cool Speach to speak the dialog.

So yes I have a great interest in music in fact its closer to my heart than my ZED.

Sorry about the length of the answer but you did ask. :nana2:  :nana2:

 Aside from vodka, coffee and codiene, the only other drug I ever indulged in was the old Mary Jane. Even that turned out to have its dangers though - one time I decided to have a bit of a shmoke before a gig, had a bit too much of a smoke, went on-stage feeling rather good. First song started and I remember looking down at my guitar and thinking "WTF is that for!?"

Anyway, two songs in and I've remembered and getting really into it then launch into a 15 minute feedback solo... Strangely, the venue had emptied out a fair bit when I'd finished and come back to reality.

As for the women, that's between me and my conscience!

Left school at 17 and toured and recorded with quite a few different bands over the years. Did a couple of albums and a few singles but jacked it in professionally at 25 due to poor management and a dogdy recording contract.

Guitar is my weapon of choice, even though I play drums, bass and one handed keyboards! My style has been compared to Gary Moore/Brian May.

Currently in a covers band, although don't look quite as good as 'Take Me To The Pub's' (Thats how I used to look!). We're playing Thin Lizzy, INXS, Cheap Trick, Stereophonics, Beatles, Eagles etc etc.

Good to know we have some fellow musicians among us!

I gotta say. as I forgot before that I have big ambitions of creating something very different? I like to experiment by fusing dis-similar music together. I have a great track that I thin k any of you might like called "Man in the Corner" and its a fusion of D&B and electro rock. Sounds good and others who have heard it think so too. I wish I could link it somewhere and let you hear it and see what you think.

i dont play anything but my best mate/worker for me is in a big band that are very up and comming they have just sigend a big contract with sony
