I think its because its fashionable, I see it with a lot of bikers as well, they have to go out and buy the latest thou with matching leathers and helmet because its what everyone else does, they dont buy the bike that suits what they want it for.

> I actually quite like the way the supra looks, its not beautiful but i do like it. Never been in one / driven one though. However the zed looks much nicer IMHO but i do like the supra too >

Never been a big fan of Supras, but if you have to have one then that is the baby to have ! 3 lite, six speed, twin sequential turbo.

Yes indeed, I must admit I quite like them, not as good as looking as zed maybe, but tuning wise they are a damn sight easier to get big hp from than a zed. My M8 has a jspec auto, hes just gone to a single T61 turbo, tubular manifold UK injectors and cams because they are bigger, through an SAFC2 few other bits and pieces all through an auto box, pushing out 510RWHP. :duffer: and at the cost of approx. £3K.

cheers Jon.

That's true I 'spose, if you want easyish big BHP. Although I'd rather have a Skyline to do that with.

Interesting old thread about Zed engine vs Supra engine, and tunablity http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1400

Some Supras can look nice. The one in 'Getaway from Stockholm' is nice. But generally, they are not exactly sleek are they. Most tend to fit those horrible Vileside bodykits with huge rear spoilers....which look gash.

They are like Skylines though with respect to engine mod options.

Zed looks better than Skylines AND Supras. The main thing in recent years that's made them so popular is the fact that they had leading roles in Fast and Furious films.

It's quite bizzare really, because the plot is based on a true story...pretty boring one I guess if you ask me. But the guy in the original true story owned a Zed and it was about that car. Why they didn't use one is behond me. Might have made them as popular and raved about as Supras and Skylines then. Glad they didn't use the zed actually. Imagine the amount of chaved up versions we'd see. Zeds are still nice, rare and exclusive. :)

LOL, just been told about this thread, so i'll have my 10p's worth!

Some of you may know, i have a supra n/a now & tbh it's a good car,

hasn't missed a beat in the 5mths i've owned it. To me it was the logical

'next car' to get, don't want a gto, so i opted for a supra, i went for the

n/a as it has a bulletproof reputation, and is an ideal nitrous candidate if

i ever need any more power!

Obviously it lacks the performance of my old TT Z, but it is not slow by

any means, you just have to work it a bit harder.

Some people don't like the look of 'em, & i must admit in standard form

(wheels etc) they do look a little bland, whereas the z looks the mutts nutts

in standard trim, just a nice set of splitties maybe, but a kitted supra looks

better than a kitted Z (IMO). I've been in a few tt supras & the performance is amazing to say the least, but sadly so is the fuel economy! It seems big

bhp upgrades are easier to get with a supra, due to the straight 6 configuration (obviously!), single turbo conversions are very common & readily

available.

Mine had Tein susp when i got it, so cant really compare the handling to my

old Z, it's like a go-kart to say the least, just a bit rattly!

I had my Z for 2yrs or so & loved every minute of it, no serious probs really.

Time will tell if i keep the supra for that long...... :D

Anyway thats my 10p's worth, i'm just off to get my coat!

I like the Supra TT...but the price on this one seems high given the mileage..

i have to be honest.. i have been to look at a honda nsx several times this week.. and im getting very tempted, but i will still keep the zed...

just a little unsure as to buy it or not..
