Not sure what your insurance would be like, try a few online quotes. But its not just the Insurance difference to think about with the 300zx. Fuel and Maintenance costs will also be much higher.

The 200sx was a £20k sports coupe, whereas the 300zx is the original japanese Supercar, and not far off £40k when new.

An Early good condition example can be obtained from £4k, but will still have the Running costs of a £40k car.

I can afford to run and maintain it, I was looking at getting one before I got the 200sx but thought insurance was group 20 which would be far to expensive!

Ive taken servicing costs and fuel costs in to account and still quite interested!

Just need to know what the sort of price difference there will be in insurance costs!

If you think you can afford to run and maintain it then why do you need to ask about the insurance then!? :wack:

Just as an example, the reason why I went for a 300ZX is because the insurance for me to get one was pretty much the same as a 200SX. Then again I am few years older then you are! Have fun trying to find a UK TT. Not that many UK cars around!

Good point.

I can't believe any one would fork out £3K to insure a car!! Maybe if it's a an F360 or a 911 turbo and money was no issue.

I thought the 300 TT was in group 18 not 20?

It is a group 18, at first I assumed it was a 20! Im going to get some quotes then and see what the difference is like!!

Im 20 Aswell Mate And Have No Ncb. Right Now I Have A Jap Tt Manual.

Really?? Who are you insured with? Id get a Jap model if I could get insured! How much do you pay?

Yes its quality!! :duffer: :xxx:

Youve got some good smileys!!

My 300ZX (1999, NA) is about 50% more to insure than my 200ZX (H-reg S13)

You'd be best to call an insurance company and get some quotes if you're serious.

but a lot of that would be down to the Value difference(1999 zed versus 1990 s13) ?

Plus an s13 200SX was half the price of my s14a on insurance :wack:

Try Elephant.co.uk, im only 20 (21 on Thursday) and I managed to get insurance on a 94 UK 300zxTT for £1100, if you pay all up-front.

try tescos or sainsburys they insured me at 20.

Have you got any NCB?? Is that in your own name? Thats cheap!!

Yeah thats in my own name, ive got 0 NCB, but ut was a 3pft quote, it was about £1550 for fully comp. Also try adding your parents to the insurance policy as named drivers, that seems to bring the quote down.

Elephant to a 10 month bonus accelrator as well, which seems quite good.

Steve

Be aware with elephant that you are locked into their 10month policies. You don't gain 1 yrs no claim at the end of the policy! its run over 10mth to make you renew the policy as the other insurance companies wont accept the 10mths no claim. They are very cheap though. They also don't cover boost controllers by the way.

Yeah i heard that, elephant did say that they would give 1 yrs NCB on the 10month policy if i decided to go to another insurere, but i decided that it was probably best to go for the 12 month policy.

The price they give on the net is is you pay it all up front, you will need to call them if you want to pay monthly.
