Couldn't post these before for obvious reasons but here's some phots of a very sad spin off. The owner Phill and another gtr owner were giving it welly round Castle Combe and Phil spun off. He span quite some way and ended up in the hay. The heat of the car set the hay on fire. The car would actually start, but because he thought the engine was on fire he got out. By that time the fire had took hold and the results were quite nasty. Its being rebuilt though and the damage isnt as bad as it looked apparently. Sounds like its going to be even more than the 600hp it already is. Good luck to Phil.

I think it might have been actually? Here it is the lap before. Dave

Oooh such a shame. Not a Skyline fan really, but that did looks gorgeous when I saw it.

Shame about the car, but that's part of the risk that makes racing fun.

That second picture is a bloody CLASSIC!!!! The Skyline going off the road and kicking up dust, with the perfectly framed advert for "Keep your speeding on the track" -  Well caught!

Thats a damb shame and a very sad sight to see!!

Im just glad that no one was hurt in the whole episode!!

Cant believe there is a hay field in the middle of the track thou!! Maybe if that wasnt there it may have not gone up as bad!! Only maybe like!!

Doesn't look like there was that much damage from those pics, really - even the sills haven't melted which is where the flames were..

I imagine most of that white is the extinguisher powder - 'course, the wiring loom/rubber pipes etc in the engine bay could be toast.. We can't see that bit.

He span a long way to end up in the hay, a lot of people were asking though why the hay was so close. Definately wouldn't have happened if the hay wasn't there. As for the damage, it wasn't as bad as it could have been but it was at least a grand or two he says. The door inards were melted, the paint all peeled off. Lots of smoke/heat damage. It still started though which was pretty amazing. The good pictures were taken by a lad on UJCC forum. He took some of the ones of my car as well.
