Dont think it does. I dont remember seeing any pump on the box diagram

Ok Paul

Did the UK Auto (which is what my car started life as) have a pump for the oil cooler in the rad? If so could I use that (provided its still their) to run my cooler for my manual box.

the auto would use the internal gearbox pump AFAIK

i believe (tho not looked) that the pump is the same that the diff uses?

What pumps both or the same type. cos I gather that much from the diagram, but how could it be the same one?

Hi Mark,

From what I remember:

On a UK manual TT Z there is one oil pump and cooler located above the O/S rear driveshaft which cools both diff and gearbox oil. It only comes on under certain conditions - (see manual), but if you want to activate it - there are two thermostats on the rear of the diff, if you ground the wire for the smaller of the two thermostats you should hear the pump come on.

Hope this helps

Simon.

better still you don't need it, its not as iff its the sahara desert in the uk lol, cos even them little nips don't have it on j spec and they are a little warmer than us lmfao

Point is I want to put an after market cooler on so as to make it last a little longer while I abuse the motor FFS. So What I really need to know I suppose is wether

I can just used a after market pump or it it is wiser to use the original set up with a slightly bigger cooler.
