Well should have got my car back for good yesterday after I spent the last 2 days rebuilding all the bits and bats for him.

I went home at about 3 and said I would come back in a couple of hours after it had been buffed up.

Turned up at half 4 and about 4 of them where stood there looking at it, I thought they looked pee'd off but turns out that it has been sprayed and is Patchy. :cry:

Well brought it home to store and its going back in in 3weeks time as he going on holiday!

What a bummer! :mad:

I never asked for the grills to be sprayed and why he cut a hole like that near the towing eye?? :wack:

Not bad though?

 

Shame I have to reverse into the garage now. :p

Agree, luverly colour, tbh though i don't like the grills being sprayed the same colour, much prefer them silver and it kinda breaks the colour up at the front.

As for the towing eye, i had the same problem with my wings west, just had the garage knock the edge of it inwards so the grill would fit flush and pray i never needed to have the car towed. Obviously that did happen, just knocked the mesh out, got towed and but a new mesh section in to replace the old, pretty cheap on ebay.

Yep, I am gonna do the meshes black and at the moment I am rowing that I want black alloys but the misus says silver :nono: :confused:

Originally I also thought about maybe some black decals but when its finished with whatever alloys on I might try a paint shop first :rofl:

IMHO black will look good, but I think the

silver will make it look more expensive/classy/newer

but thats just me. ;)

black alloys. deffo photoshop some decals on first before fitting. even try blu-tacking them on for a while to see if you like them before you commit.

100% Black alloys with chrome rims, minimal decals and black mesh would look :bow: IMHO!

Do what me and Mac did and take the standard tow eye off then get a replacement racing one from Demon Tweeks that you can mount underneath ;)

you got the body work done by a garage off daubhill known as "boomerang body shop" (jobs always come back) did you get the paintwork sorted in the end?

i used to work at vinny's bodyshop thats near boomerang body shop when younger but now have my own bodyshop in leigh

Looking at the pic's cann't see the blotchie effect. Like the rest of the guys the grill would be better if not the same colour as the rest of the car. Sorry you have to wait another 3 weeks. Hope it comes out just the way you like it. :)

sorry for reviving a old thread but i was going through nw member list and recognised the car.

An old thread (dont remind me lol)

 

The story was

I stripped it down, masked eveything up, fitted body kit and primed

sent car to sprayers

I rebuilt all trim

He cleaned car and drove it outside and it looked crap :(

I took it home as he was going away for 3 weeks

I took it back in and he masked all the lot up badly (where I would have removed from car) and sprayed away

Im busy sorting out stuff on the car still :( took me about 6 hrs the other night to scrub paint off my inner wings.

 

OK I know it was ages ago but since then fitted traction control and other goodies..........................

 

My wheels arrived today! so it wont be long now :dance:

yes i live off M G lane, you do too lol im on the opposite side though, i had a g reg dark blue 300zx (it's still in bolton and going strong, it's got a private plate now starting OIL ****)and a number of honda crx's, you may have seen them outside boomerang auto's, i used to see your zx quite alot when it was white, i used to go boomerang autos quite alot but people started associating me with them so i dont go there as much and i've got my own bodyshop up the road in leigh,

i am mainly driving a red honda crx at the moment but i should have my n reg zx on the road in a few weeks, i'm just soting afew bits out and smoothing the bumpy texture on the bottom of the bumpers.

 

did he sort you paint work out in the end? he's a good lad but he's really a mechanic not a body /paint man, but saw theres good money in body and paint so his brother set him up bodyshop (his brother is a mechanic and is next door) when i saw your car i was gutted cos i used to see it driving around and it looked nice, i thought theres no way the owners gonna pay for that job...you shouldnt have paid him, he's used to it lol. i might sound harsh but it's only cos im a painter myself

i must say though that he's one of the busiest body shops in bolton..but also the crapest
