bloody hell

I read this story in todays Orlando Sentinel. Here are some highlights:

"Troopers stopped about 350 cars over the weekend and arrested 172 people in a drag-racing dragnet."

"The weekend operation by the Florida Highway Patrol in west Miami-Dade County was the largest sting of its kind in South Florida and an attempt to fight the mushrooming and sometimes deadly drag-racing scene."

"About 100 people got away, scattering north on dirt roads through horse farms that lead to major roadways, FHP spokesman Ernesto Duarte said."

"The FHP blocked off about a one-mile stretch of Okeechobee Road in both directions two miles south of Krome Avenue."

5 of my friends have been arrested, and another 10 got away driving on dirt roads

these are all friends who race with me sometimes in my local area
