Size of Top Radator Hose

Is the top radiator hose 36mm ?????

 

Wondered if I boiled up the hose it would expand enough to fit a 38mm sender adapter.

 

Any thoughts or anyone tried this sort of thing before.

    It is 38mm not 36mm. Honest I promise it will fit no problem.
